Pat Cummins buys into SureVision Global

Press release, May 2024

Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins has added to his growing business portfolio with an investment in one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest digital screen providers, SureVision Global Pty Ltd.

Complementing his undisputed long-term on-field success, Cummins is now a proven great, as both an Australian cricket player and captain. He is acclaimed for his successes as captain of the Australian men’s cricket team within Australia and around the world, and is recognised for his many attributes as a leader: his management of people, clear thinking, common sense under pressure and innovative strategic thinking. All of these will translate ably into the business world.

A new ownership structure

A management buy-out in January 2024 provided the opportunity for Cummins to invest in SureVision. He is one of a select group of high-net-worth investors who have re-capitalised the business. The new ownership structure brings experience and pedigree, a strong balance sheet and a renewed purpose and alignment to the digital screen business.

Cummins joins SureVision alongside Harkham Ventures, LLC, the private investment arm of Efrem Harkham. The Harkham family’s asset and business interests cover luxury hotels in the USA and significant property interests in the USA, Australia and Israel, including shopping centres, independent retail precincts and other retail investments. Harkham Ventures manages over US$350 million in net assets.

Thorough due diligence

SureVision CEO Nick Ebbeck is convinced that Cummins will be an influential business executive.

“To be clear, this association is a significant and well-researched investment made by Pat into a business with strong growth prospects. Pat underwent thorough due diligence before making the decision to join SureVision. We had a few meaningful conversations, and pleasingly, quickly found alignment in our thinking. I am excited by Pat’s involvement in the business and I’m confident that his skillset will be a great asset for our management team.”

In Pat’s words

“I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to SureVision across ANZ. I am keen to learn more about elements of the business but am also confident I can add quite a bit of value through my experiences and networks.”
— Pat Cummins

It doesn’t sound like his venture into the business world will be short term either.

“I enjoy learning about businesses, how they build value and in particular, how they can bring value to other businesses through their offering. SureVision has the potential to do this across sport, out-of-home and also through innovation in the digital screen industry. I am looking forward to getting started.”
— Pat Cummins
